This one is a fun, easy Halloween craft to do with your pee wee’s. And anything with their little prints on it is adorable.
You’ll need //
- Air-Dry Clay*
- Wax Paper
- Rolling Pin*
- Knife
- White Acrylic Paint*
- Ribbon or Yarn
- Sharpie* or another black marker
My toddler, probably like most toddlers, is into crafts and making things – All By Herself. This one she could do on her own (minus using the knife part), it was all very exciting.
First start by rolling out the Air-Dry Clay. This is the Air-Dry Clay we used- it’s soft and easy to work with. You can get it here from Amazon* (does not come with sheep supervisor).

The first time we rolled it out we did so on our countertop and the clay stuck, haha. We couldn’t pry it off without ruining her handprint so we tried again using wax paper. That’s the way to go, use wax paper friends.
Rolled out one for Bear.

And one for Tiny.

Now to smoosh – their favorite part.

We washed her hands before the smooshing but I guess they picked up something along the way. haha. No worries, we’ll be painting these later.

Tiny tried to grab hers mid smoosh. I love it.
Now slice loosely around the hand prints.

Remove excess clay from the edges and make a hole for the yarn or ribbon with the end of the sharpie. Then set aside. They need 2-3 days to dry fully before painting.

Yay time to paint! Paint the dried clay handprint, ghost white. Then set aside to dry.

Once dry you can now add your ghost face via sharpie. Flip and put a face on that ghost 🙂

Now time to lace through your ribbon or yarn. I have some yarn I bought a long time ago at Patchwork Long Beach, when I was selling my socks monsters at craft fairs. I love this yarn. So soft and so many wonderful colors in one hank. I think I’ll eventually use the rest of it to knit something, not sure what yet, stay tuned. Even though it was years ago I remember chatting with this gal who spun the yarn and how excited she was about fiber crafts, it was so joyous talking with her. I still have her business card, so if you’re in need for some yarn please check out her etsy store, SoGentlyBefore.

And there you go to adorable little halloween print ghosts. Maybe this will be one I do every year with them and we can watch their ghosts grow over the years.
Try it out and let me know how yours turn out. Tag me on instagram so I can see your cute ghosts too.
